Diet Shake

Hello:

I have discovered a great diet shake… the Visalus Vi-Shape weight loss shake that is not only delicious but healthy for you too! I have seen for myself how well it works. A friend of mine lost 3 inches from his waist from 36″ to 33″. I have personally been using it for only about one month now starting about the first week in December and I’ve lost 3 pounds already. That may not sound like much, but if you consider I am only drinking 1 shake a day, I did not exercise at all in December, and I pretty much pigged out the whole month at holiday get togethers, parties, etc.

My goal is to lose 20 pounds, so at this rate, I should lose the rest in about 5 months if I keep doing what I am doing. I know I will start exercising more in the warmer months, so I’ll probably lose it even faster. If you are interested in the Visalus program and would like to learn more about it, just click the link to the right under the “links” section and read all about it!

Sincerely,
Bill Anderson

Weight gain in Winter

Hello:

Ever wonder why you gain weight in the winter easier than iweight gain in wintern warmer weather? These may be some reasons why…

  • Staying indoors in a heated environment – If you are outside, in a cooler environment, your body has to do more work to keep your body warm thus increasing your metabolism.
  • Cold temperatures increase your appetite – maybe due to that increase in metabolism.
  • People are more prone to exercising less in cold weather. If you are sitting on the couch more and pigging out watching TV, guess what?… you’re gonna to gain weight!
  • Hibernation… are bears and squirrels the only animals that hibernate? Probably not… I think all “animals” at least prepare for the winter when there is less food available. It may have been coded into our genes over millions of years of evolution. But, recessive as those genes might be, I think all animals stock up for the long, cold winter. They naturally try to pack on the pounds so they can survive the winter or sleep right through it.

So… be careful during the winter months! Don’t eat as many acorns!

Sincerely,
Bill Anderson

Increasing your metabolism as you get older…

increasing metabolismHello:

Getting older you naturally lose muscle mass. The estimates say that you lose up to 1% per year after age 25. Muscle mass is important for keeping your metabolism charged up so you can lose weight easier because muscle burns calories at a faster rate than fat does. So… add a little strength training to your daily routine. Push ups and sit ups are good options. If you can’t do a push up on the floor, maybe try doing them while leaning on the counter to make them easier at first. Weight training with some small dumbbells are good. You can carry weights with you while you walk too – my favorite form of exercise besides working in the yard or around the house.

December 2011 results

diet shakeHello:

Well, after several months since my last weigh in, I stepped on the scale today and I’m still hovering around 200 lbs. Not too bad considering I’ve been sitting around on the couch and pigging out during the Holiday Season. Still just drinking one Visalus Diet Shake a day for lunch. It’s simple, delicious, and I look forward to it every day.

What’s really cool is my belly fat seems to be getting smaller… I have had this yellow shirt hanging in the closet for several years – unable to wear it because it was too tight. It’s a large size and I can now wear it easily

Sincerely,
Bill

I can’t get motivated to exercise!

Hello:

We all know that daily exercise not only helps you lose weight, but has other benefits too like lowering blood pressure, preventing diabetes, etc. But how can you get motivated to exercise every day?

Answer… find some form of exercise that you enjoy doing. If you like golf, go out and play 9 holes every other day. Hit the driving range often too. Practice your swing in your back yard with a wiffle ball or net. Maybe play tennis if you like tennis. I think walking is great exercise and is easy and enjoyable so you don’t need much motivation to get up and do it. Another option is to take care of some of those chores around the house like mowing the lawn, repairing the roof, cutting the hedges, washing the car, cleaning out the garage, etc, etc. These are things that need to be done anyway, so why not kill two birds with one stone and get some exercise at the same time. Use your imagination and I bet you can think of some fun ways to get some exercise!

Sincerely,
Bill Anderson

Drinking water for weight loss

Did you know?….drinking water for weight loss

  • One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study.
  • Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
  • Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
  • A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen.
  • Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

Watch what you drink

Hello:

There are all kinds of unhealthy and fattening drinks avdrink water for healthailable to us these days. I think the worst ones are sodas with high sugar content and artificially sweetened sodas. Both can cause weight gain believe it or not. A study from the Univ of North Carolina showed that on average, we consume about 450 calories per day from what we drink.

My advice to you is to watch what you drink… sodas, water drinks with high sugar content, energy drinks, coffee drinks, beer and alcoholic drinks, etc. Maybe replace these unhealthy drinks with plain old water or maybe one of those waters that are naturally flavored with fruit flavorings. Better yet, get yourself a good water filter and drink free filtered water. I even found a good water filter that removes chlorine and fluoride from your tap water at http://www.crystalquest.com/

Water is very healthy for you and helps promote weight loss! Drink more water!

Sincerely,
Bill Anderson

Diet Scams

Hello:

You know… I’m getting sort of tired of all the diet infomercials and adbill's scale 7-26-11vertising these days on TV and the internet. You know… NutriSystem, Jenny Craig, Medifast, Weight Watchers, all those exercise machines, work out videos, gym memberships, that Sensa sprinkle diet (do you really know what’s in that stuff?), etc, etc, etc!

I just jumped on the scale again and I’m still hovering just under 200 lbs. No dieting and not much exercise at all… it’s been in the upper 90′s here in Savannah for the past month. Other than a little yard work about once a week, I’ve been trying to stay inside which usually means sitting in front of the computer or laying on the couch watching TV.

I do get up around noon and fix myself a quick weight loss shake… something I look forward to drinking. Maybe now is a good time to contemplate what I just said… I look forward to drinking my daily weight loss shake! Why wouldn’t I? It’s delicious and sort of like eating a desert. On top of that, it’s good for me… chock full of vitamins, pro-biotics, and fiber and other good stuff that makes me magically lose weight (or if I’m being really lazy and pigging out, at least not gaining any weight).

You must ask yourself…

  • Is what I’m doing to lose weight healthy for me?
  • Do I enjoy doing it?
  • Can I continue to do it for the rest of my life – easily?
  • Is it costing me a ton of money? Or is it just replacing 1-2 meals a day with a cheaper, healthier alternative?

If the answer to any of these is “no”, then you may be on a yo-yo diet! Please evaluate what you are doing to lose weight and make some changes if necessary.

Sincerely,
Bill Anderson

HCG Diet Scam

Hello:

First of all, What is HCG?… The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone (HCG) is a glycoprotein hormone released during pregnancy. The primary function of HCG is to provide nourishment to the developing fetus byhcg diet scam burning the fat content from the mother’s body.

Ummmm… why would anybody in their right mind want to ingest this stuff which may have harmful side effects????

Do I have to follow a special diet while I take the HCG drops?

Yes. You must follow the entire HCG Diet Protocol as described in Dr. Simeons’ manuscript, “Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity”, where he outlines a special 500-calorie-per-day diet that was tested on thousands of patients. HCG is only effective for weight loss if it is taken while strictly following Dr. Simeons’ HCG Diet Protocol, including the 500 calorie diet. Taking HCG alone (without the diet) will not cause you to lose weight.

Ummmm again… Guess what? – anybody on a 500 calorie diet is going to lose weight whether they take HCG or not. Let’s all say it together now… yoooo-yoooo diet. Yoooo-Yoooo diet. That’s very good! You’re starting to get the picture!

Also… Since 1975, the FDA has required labeling and advertising of HCG to state:

HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.

Drink a Healthy Weight Loss Shake instead!

Sincerely,
Bill Anderson
